Anan Creek Bear Tour

4 Hours Departing Ketchikan
From USD$660 per person
Email Tour View map

One of Alaska’s premier bear viewing opportunities, Anan Creek is home to one of the largest concentrations of black and brown bears in the state. The area presents a rare opportunity to see bears in their own environment chasing salmon. During the tour you first fly over the deep blue waters of Behm Canal and witness the wild beauty of the Cleveland Peninsula. Upon landing, your group will walk/hike unguided on a boardwalk and stairways along Anan Creek to the bear observatory. Mink, marten and wolf are regulars in the area, while seals are often spotted during the landing on Anan Bay in Bradfield Canal.

This tour is unguided and includes a 45 minute air tour from Ketchikan to Anan Creek, 20-25 minutes of unguided moderate hiking from shore to the viewing platform and over 1 hour at the bear viewing platform.

(Minimum age 10 yrs. During high river levels, 12 yrs)
