Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, west of the Juneau covers an area of over 550,000 acres of wilderness area.
The national park draws in over 400,000 visitors each year aboard cruise ships sailing through the bay fed by tidal glaciers flowing from Alaska’s large icefields and surrounded by spectacular mountain ranges.
The bay functions as a safe haven for wide variety of wildlife including both grizzly and black bears, moose, mountain goats, sea otters, harbor seals and much more. As there is no road into the park, it is only accessible by air and sea.
During summer months there are ferries to the small community of Gustavus or directly to the marina at Bartlett Cove offering day-trippers access into the park.
