Whittier | Whittier Alaska Day Tours Sightseeing & Cruises

Whittier is Alaska’s second largest cruise ship port serviced by lines such as Princess and Norwegian Cruises.

This small town of under 200 permanent residents is a gateway to Prince William Sound, where you can soak up breathtaking mountains, emerald forests and a sparkling deep blue sea.

Whittier INTRODUCTION

From Whittier, connection into Alaska’s largest city (Anchorage) and the interior of Alaska can be by road or aboard Alaska Railroad, both sharing the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel. This scenic journey is a highlight in itself as you travel through a Swiss Chalet-like structure for 2.5 miles through narrow passes cut into the mountain. For those wishing to travel to Valdez, the port for the Alaska Marine Highway ferries is in Whittier as well.
