Admiralty Island Pack Creek Bear Sanctuary
Admiralty Island in Southeast Alaska is home to over 1,500 brown bears. The Pack Creek Bear Sanctuary, on the eastern shore of Admiralty Island provide visitors an opportunity to view and photograph bears close-up. A 25-minute floatplane ride from Juneau is all it takes to explore the Fortress of the Bears and view these amazing animals in their natural surroundings. The tour is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see brown bears move along the shores and down from the steep slopes of Admiralty Island to the intertidal wetlands at the mouth of Pack Creek to feed on spawning Pink and Chum salmon found there.
